Misty mountain hop

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom @ 6:25 am

The sun shines over a distant misty mountain . . .

Wait, that mountain’s not “distant,” it’s half a mile from our house! And that’s not mist, it’s smoke from the wildfires burning north of Phoenix (some of which are about 10 miles from here.) Imagine what it smells like to be standing directly over the chimney of an active fireplace, and it’s burning the nastiest, cheapest wood. The smell around here is overwhelmingly strong. We’re likely in absolutely no danger from the fire, but when you smell it so strong, it seems impossible that it’s not right down the street.
