Simplify

Filed under: General — Tom @ 7:42 pm

What started out as a nice experiment – dividing my “private life” and my thoughts on entertainment into two separate sites – worked out for a while, but with my dwindling supply of free time (happily occupied by the effervescent Amanda, now two months and three days old) I’ve decided it’s time to merge it all back together. In an effort to simplify my life a bit, I have decided to forgo updating unproductivity and the beautiful lull to WordPress 1.5 (because I massively restructured the original files and the update would require redoing all that work.) Instead, I’ve begun this new site where everything comes back together in one place.

I also grew dissatisfied with using the “unproductivity” theme for my site – my time is anything but unproductive, and since much of it is spent with Amanda and Alissa, I find something vaguely distasteful in referring to life with them in such a negative way. Onward and upward – knownjohnson.com is born!

In keeping with the “simplicity” theme, I stuck with the basic WordPress template this time around – why reinvent the wheel? I did, of course, create my own graphics for the site – based on the previous well-received unproducitivity.com header, and in due time I’ll come up with something I like for this site. Hey, I like Amanda’s baby shoes, okay? They’re the first shoes she ever wore.

So the old sites will remain where they are and maybe someday I’ll do something fun with them. Shed no tears for them – you will get everything and more that you had there on this site. And look: comments are back!

  1. Good to see everything back in one place. And you’ve resumed the “comments” feature! Yay!

  2. Has Amanda grown out of the shoes yet?
