Rob Dickinson – Live And Alone

I have been waiting for this for months. Since former Catherine Wheel singer Rob Dickinson went on tour (opening for The Church) he’s been out selling copies of an exclusive acoustic live album, Live And Alone, available only on tour, frustratingly enough. “Frustrating” because I, recluse that I am, missed them and the fantastic Church, and therefore missed my opportunity to pick up a copy of this disc, and also because I have become a Catherine Wheel/Dickinson junkie and therefore just want whatever I can find that is a unique presentation of the songs. Dickinson’s throaty tenor and an acoustic guitar, without the backing of drums, bass, keyboards, etc., sounds like a gorgeous way to hear his songs.
Now that Dickinson is no longer on tour, he apparently has released a limited number of copies, a limited number of which he will autograph, to his site for sale, so I am a happy fan. If you want to be, too, get yourself over to his store for a copy before they’re all gone.
