MMW does a children’s record (and a cool new blog to point you at)

Mrs. Lady-Lady (that would be, you know, my wife) pointed out to me an article in today’s paper about Medeski, Martin, and Wood, who will be in Phoenix for a small jazz festival on Oct. 13. In the article it mentions the double-take inducing news that the band has recorded a children’s album, featuring vocals (and, of course, lyrics) by Chris Wood. Reportedly (according to the band, that is,) the music sounds just like their regular stuff, but has some lyrical content thrown in. That, of course, got me a-googlin’, and I turned up a cool site that not only had some mp3s of two songs, but also is aimed at parents trying to not be crushed under the weight of terrible children’s music. As the site’s tagline says, “because no one should have to listen to the Wiggles, ever.” And how.
