Making his list, checking it twice

Taken the weekend of Thanksgiving, but better late posting it now than never, right?

Amanda - Christmas 2007

Contrast this with last year’s very sleepy Amanda:

Amanda - Christmas 2006

And, yes, that’s the exact same Santa as last year, so it’s kind of cool to compare/contrast how she’s grown. Not only that, but the difference in this year’s “Santa experience” was drastic – a 45 minute wait as opposed to last year’s marathon 3 hour and 15 minutes. It was blissful in comparison – rather than grumbling about our rumbling bellies and tired feet, we simply had to endure watching the same creepy promo for The Polar Express over and over on the TVs in line, mixed in with a few other actual holiday classics. I’ll take that any day. It was a breeze.

  1. Maybe it’s the red tones in the photo, but I can’t help but think the first photo was originally taken in 1975, not this past Thanksgiving.

  2. Yeah, they made it very difficult to do anything with the picture they gave out this year. I tried doing a little magic with it in Photoshop but it blew out all the colors if I tweaked them even a little. Someone knew what they were doing when they set up their system there – they really want you to get their reprints, not make them yourself. Funny thing is that I was able to get decent prints out of pretty much straight scans – and they look a bit better than the original!
